Did you know? The simple act of placing bare feet on soil could be one of the most overlooked aspects of wellbeing.
Research suggests that direct contact with the Earth's surface helps reduce inflammation, improve sleep, and decrease stress levels. This ancient practice, known as 'earthing' or 'grounding', works by allowing our bodies to absorb the Earth's natural, subtle electrical charge.
Creating a grounding practice:
Start your day with barefoot morning tea in the garden
Take lunch breaks on the grass rather than at your desk
Garden without gloves when possible
Walk barefoot on the beach during sunset
Meditate while sitting directly on the earth
The key is consistency rather than duration. Even 10-15 minutes of daily earth connection can make a difference in how we feel and function.
Remember to create a mindful space for your grounding practice. Light a scented candle nearby, bring a soft blanket to sit on (with feet touching the earth), and allow yourself to fully present in the experience.
